WINTER NEWSLETTER 2025

Dear Friends of Elmwood,
Waterloo Elmwood Cemetery continues to provide a beautiful, peaceful resting place for our families and friends. Your cemetery maintenance staff, board, and manager are always here to provide the long-term planning and daily care of this special space. It’s our privilege. Thank you!
CONTINUED UPGRADES…
Our new entry space just keeps getting better and better. The new informational kiosk has arrived and is waiting patiently for installation. This will house a map of the cemetery displaying the location of each section to hopefully make your cemetery visit easier and more enjoyable. There will also be a QR code (see below) you can scan to take you directly to the cemetery website. And don’t forget, you can always contribute to your Waterloo Elmwood Cemetery as a memorial to a loved one. Your contribution could be a plaque beneath one of the illuminated flagpoles in our entry or for another beautiful tree. Your gifts allow our cemetery to continue improving!

VISIT THE NEW WEBSITE … waterlooelmwoodcemetery.org
Our website has received a much-needed upgrade. We partnered with a local website developer to help us with a new, fresh look. The new website includes a History of Waterloo Elmwood Cemetery, a “Find A Loved One” section where you can search for the location of your loved one including section and lot number, directions to the cemetery, the newest news from your cemetery, up-to-date information of burial options, ways you can contribute to your Elmwood cemetery, and pictures throughout the seasons. WE hope you find it useful and we’re always open to feedback on ways to make it better.

CRITTERS…
Our furry friends aren’t always our friends. The groundhogs, aka woodchucks, aka pests, have subsided somewhat after a few years of chasing them around the cemetery. A third-party “relocator” helps us move the pests to a more desirable home, at least in our eyes. The moles are always a problem and continue to be, but the same pest control contractor helps with those pesky varmints, as well. We continue to try to find some “common ground” with our furry friends. It’s just yet another challenge for our wonderful maintenance staff.

CEMETERY SECTION SIGNAGE… Coming Soon
You asked for it, we listened, and we’re working on it. We will be adding signage to each of the nine sections of Waterloo Elmwood Cemetery this year. The signs will help you know where you are in the cemetery and if you’re where you should be. If you’ve scanned the QR code on the entry kiosk or simply gone to the new website, you will know the section locations of your loved ones. Hopefully, the added signage will make your quest all the easier. We hope so.

PLEASE CONSIDER CREATING A MEMORIAL FOR A LOVED ONE!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN THE PAST!
YOUR GENEROUS GIFTS MAKE ALL OF THIS POSSIBLE!
